RENTAL POLICIES

1 GENERAL
1.1Rental day period starts at 10:00 h and ends at 20:00 h. Bicycles may be rented for a fraction of a day or longer periods. the minimum rental period is 2 hours.
1.2 Delivery of bikes can be requested for hotels or other accommodation located in Barcelona city center. An additional 5 euros will be charged per bicycles for this service. This service is subject to availability.
1.3 Cruising Barcelona reserves the right to deny rental for whatever reason.
1.4 Returning bikes outside openinghours may result in additional costs, we charge€10,- euros for every half hour or fraction.

2 RESERVATION, PAYMENTS, DEPOSIT
2.1 Reservations are free of charge and must be done with enough time in advance in order to garantee availability.
2.2 Method of payment: cash only payed at the moment of returning the rented equipment.
2.3 Deposit: The customer will be asked for a security deposit (200,- euro per bike) or leave his/her proper ID( passport, driving licence or National Identity Card for EU-Citizens), a copy of indentification will be made in the office. The deposit will be refunded at the moment of returning the rented equipment.
2.4 The customer who signs the rental agreement has to be at least 18 years old and will be responsible for all of the rented equipment.

3 RENTAL EQUIPMENT
3.1 The rented bicycles and equipment may only be used by the designated customer and the members of his/her party as mentioned in the rental agreement.
3.2 It is not allowed to use the rented equipment for commercial purposes such as bicycle tours or photoshoots unless explicitly authorized by Cruising Barcelona.
3.3 The customer is obliged to take good care of the rented equipment and to protect it from damage, loss or theft. If any of the mentioned situations occurs during the rental period, the customer will be charged at the moment for the full costs at market prices.
3.4 The customer is obliged to lock the bicycle properly at all times when unattended. It is highly recommeded to keep the bikes with you when possible. In case of theft of the bicycle, components or any other accessories, Cruising Barcelona will charge the customer the full cost of the missing items at market price unless the theft insurance applies.
3.5 At the end of the rental period, a Cruising Barcelona representative will determine the conditions of the rented equipment. Damage to the rented equipment will be charged accordingly.

4 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
4.1 Third party liability insurance coverage is not included in the bicycle rental price.
4.2 The customer is responsible for adequate personal insurance coverage for risks that may occur during the rental period. Cruising Barcelona is not liable for any claims for body injury or harm, accidents, damage to third person property, loss of personal belongings caused by weather, sickness, or any other causes whatsoever beyond the control of Cruising Barcelona.
4.3It is the responsibility of the customer and his/her group to respect Spanish traffic regulations.
4.4 Exclusive place of jurisdiction shall be Barcelona, Spain. This contract shall be governed by Spanish law.

5 THEFT INSURANCE
5.1 If the theft insurance checkbox ‘yes’ is ckecked, the theft insurance applies in case of theft of the rented equipment.
5.2 The theft insurance covers the value of the rented bicycle(s) including Lock(s) minus personal liablity* in case of theft.
5.3 In order to be eligable for this insurance the following conditions must be met:
- the bicycle(s) must locked properly** according to Cruising Barcelona standards
- An official police report must be made and delivered at Cruising Barcelona.
- the forged or cut lock(s) and key(s) must be returned to Cruising Barcelona
- the personal liability must be paid.
If any of the above mentioned conditions are not met, the value of the missing rented equipment will be charged in full.
5.1 If the theft insurance checkbox ‘yes’ is ckecked, the theft insurance applies in case of theft of the rented equipment.
5.2 The theft insurance covers the value of the rented bicycle(s) including Lock(s) minus personal liablity* in case of theft.
5.3 In order to be eligable for this insurance the following conditions must be met:
- the bicycle(s) must locked properly** according to Cruising Barcelona standards
- An official police report must be made and delivered at Cruising Barcelona.
- the forged or cut lock(s) and key(s) must be returned to Cruising Barcelona
- the personal liability must be paid.

6 DEFECTS, DAMAGE
6.1 Cruising Barcelona rents out well maintained equipment without defects or damage.
6.2 Any defects that may occur during the rental period are beyond the control of Cruising Barcelona however rented equipment with defects may be returned to the Cruising Barcelona office and a replacement, if available, will be provided.
6.3 If the flat tire service checkbox ‘yes’ is ckecked, It’s possible to request assistance on the road. The following applies to this service:
- Cruising Barcelona offers this service during opening hours
- the service will be performed within the service zone***
- all requests may take up to an hour and a half.
- the rental period will prolonged with the duration of the repair free of charge.
6.4 Any damage caused to rented equipment will be charged accordingly.
